Gaudi Museum, La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona.
January 24th, 2008 — Museums
This Museum, inaugurated on June the 29th, 1961. There you´ll see the evolution in the works of the architect, you´ll realise how important are the models restored after the Spanish Civil War havoc… You´ll discover, in short, pieces that are fundamental to understand the great Work by Gaudi.
In the museum you’ll also see the stone masons at work carving stones to be used on the building. This museum offers a truly fascinating visit because you will see photos of the development of the Sagrada Familia from the present day back to its early beginnings. There’s also a model of the Sagrada Familia depicting what it will look like once it’s completed (predicted to happen in the next 30 years).

Twelfth Night Procession Barcelona (Cabalgata Reyes Magos) 2008
January 8th, 2008 — City Celebrations
This is a popular cultural tradition in Spain and Latin America. Barcelona chooses to celebrate the event at sea and crowds gather at the harbour steps of the Moll de Fusta to witness the glorious arrival of the three Wise Men.
The first sightings of the kings’ boat are met with fireworks and a riotous cacophony of fog horns from a flotilla gathered in the port, while a 21-gun salute welcomes them to dry land. A colorful procession, led by the mayor and the metropolitan guard, heads towards the city centre past some of the city’s major monuments, culminating at the floodlit fountain of Montjuic, where classical music written especially for the event is played.
